Luxury Watcher Issue 103

Xos by Jos has shared the stories of some silent distilleries, such as Littlemill and Imperial, as well as Springbank, a distillery that has been passed down for five generations, in previous issues of Luxury Watcher. In Issue 103, the founder of Xos by Jos, Ms. Lina Lam, began the third chapter of the whisky stories and introduced an important certification that adds value to whisky: the “Royal Warrant.”
The history of the “Royal Warrant” is rich and extensive, beginning in the medieval period with its honorable badges and extending to the three recognized Scottish distilleries admired by British royalty. Each of these elements highlights the exceptional quality and prestigious status of “Royal” whisky.
Ms. Lina Lam emphasizes that to understand the most reputable and highly regarded “Royal” whisky brands, one should focus on Glenury Royal, Royal Brackla, and Royal Lochnagar. These three distilleries each showcase unique craftsmanship and flavors, earning them widespread recognition. With the special “Royal Warrant” recognition, some limited editions have become highly demanded by collectors and enthusiasts, reflecting the unique value and investment potential of “Royal” whisky.

Jos congratulates the 2024 Miss Asia champion — Ms. Tomato Chan, who has successfully claimed three titles!
Ms. Tomato Chan, the winner of the titles ‘Champion,’ ‘Goodwill Ambassador,’ and ‘Best Eloquence Award’ in this year’s Miss Asia pageant, attended the event wearing a custom-made blue and white porcelain-patterned cheongsam by Jos. With her graceful smile and confidently holding a scroll of calligraphy with the word “Victory” written by her, she demonstrated her determination to win.
The theme of this cheongsam Jos designed for Ms. Chan is “Bone China”, featuring a pure white fabric as the base to evoke the delicate visual effect of Bone China. A few cobalt blue patterns are added for adornment, creating an artistic value that is aesthetically unique.
The texture of Bone China is harder and less prone to breaking than ordinary porcelain, resembling Jos’s commitment and passion for cheongsam. Additionally, creating blue-and-white Bone China requires to hand painting the patterns, taking up to 36 hours of work.
Featuring Bone China on cheongsam is to demonstrate Jos’s determination to providing high-quality craftsmanship in garments and to convey the desire to pass on traditional culture to future generations.
Jos has always believed that the combination of dynamic and static elements brings out the beauty of the cheongsam. In addition to focusing on the traditional meaning cheongsam symbolizes, the wearer’s quality and posture can further enhance its beauty. In any circumstance, confidence always exudes the most captivating charm. Jos is committed to creating unique cheongsam and garments, allowing everyone to shine in any situation.

With strong connections to World Watch Magazine, Jos purse contributed to the props design for World Watch Magazine Issue 184. In the latest issue, Jos has embraced the theme of black, vintage, and mysterious elegance, using antique jewellery and investment-grade gems to evoke a sense of sophistication.
Jos selected exquisite investment-grade gems, primarily spinels, for this showcase. Most of the featured spinels exceed 3 carats and display a stunning variety of cutting styles and colours. Complementing these alluring gems are antique jewellery pieces, including a delicate natural pearl brooch and a captivating black diamond emerald owl brooch. The deep, rich tones of gray and black serve as a perfect canvas for the wristwatches to shine.
The four watches highlighted in this issue are from A. Lange & Söhne, Omega, Panerai, and Porsche Design. Each watch has its distinct charm, standing out against the enigmatic backdrop and offering a visually captivating experience.
